Sagi experiences painting as "the union of nature and spirit".
"I woke up one morning, knowing that it would be a beautiful day, when I noticed two magnificent blue birds with cobalt wings and ultra-marine bellies.
The next morning, I was walking home in a melancholy mood. Then I saw four black crows on a tree near the front door.
I searched for the blue birds in desperation but they were no where to be found. Perhaps they only show themselves to the eyes who see them.
Life is a tapestry of happening, absorbing particular moods and points of view along the path. I wrap my subjects inside sensual fantastical textures to enfold them and protect them from melancholy. I take images from my surroundings, shape-shift them to be aligned with my vision of reality. We have a never-ending love affair and flow, if you will, with our surroundings, we have the ability to see the world from our particular lenses, or inner vision. Therefore, the meaning of my art belongs to you. "
Sagi teaches generations of young and adult artists with emphasis on the creative exploration of the environment. She had a studio in Los Angeles and Sunnyvale, California, closed the studio and moved back home to Israel to a new studio in Mevaseret Zion.
